Decent shoe but be weary when you have wide feet - This is a great looking, somewhat funky shoe. Unfortunately it seems to be a bit narrow in the middle of the foot. At least for my right foot it is. There is something pushing and it's probably the protective rubber edge you can see in the picture. It's odd; I have a pair of Merrell hiking boots that also have Vibram soles. I thought they were pretty comfortable but now when I walk on them a day the next day my feet hurt. I think I'll stay away from Vibram soles from now on. You may need to wear these with thick socks. Because of the funky top lace hook construction the shoe has limited adjustability. See how the hook pokes through a hole in the tongue? I will probably try a different insole and see if that makes the shoe more comfortable. I haven't yet tried these in the weather I bought them for (winter). Build construction seems good. I've worn Timberland shoed for years and years and they've typically had a good fit so I was confident buying these without trying them on first. Well, that will teach me. I'm still trying to break them in, perhaps things will get better. Maybe I should have returned them before taking the shoes outside. I wish Timberland put some of their Smart Fit insoles in these. Those are comfortable.
